I mentioned in my Blog that we went to watch the Vancouver Giants playing ice hockey on the night of the 'Teddy Bear Toss.' Irene and I had no idea what this was ,but we could see that everybody was clutching a cuddly toy, including Philip and Lynne, who just laughed and said 'you'll see'. We took our seats behind the glass partition right at the front and the game began. It wasn't long before all was revealed. When the Vancouver Giants scored their first goal the place erupted and an avalanche of soft toys hurtled onto the ice from everywhere in the stands - quite a few landed on us! This was a charity event and all the toys were donated to The Empty Stocking Fund in Vancouver.

The aftermath! it was a wonderful moment.

The first six inches of snow was beautifuland good fun but it just kept coming. |
Lynne has decided not to cut the grass, the snow eventually reached about two feet deep and we were fortunate that the airport was still operational.
